I love how these teachers are implementing technology in their classrooms.
Students can have a real life expereince via podcasting. I believe its bestpractices in action.
It satisfies more then one learning style (visual learners, audio learners, kenisthetic learners, etc) plus its peer tutoring.
Also, with the huge concern of teacher student ratio instruction it could be one form of reaching out to more students. For example, one teacher has limited time per day where instruction has to be differentiated for 20 some odd students which must include TierIII interventions, ARI, guided reading, small group instruction, and so on. Would it be possible to podcast from one class say a guided reading lesson or even a one to one lesson across the district? This would allow bestpractices to be shared across the district all through one teacher but available to more then 20 students. This would be using our resources to the MAX! Everyone would benefit- the students, our teachers and our Klein ISD budget. I agree with Vanessa, Klein ISD is so close to maximizing its resources. I love it!

Podcasts, Video and Downloadable Audio
Wonderful-
So according to the explanation of podcasting on You Tube
it is a recording of an event (ie shows, discussions and presentations, etc).
So if our Web2.0 class used a pod cast recording today,
I would be able to view it any time from any computer given it has internet?
Is it like TVO or DVR but you actually control what you want to broadcast?

Wikis and Online Production Application & Tools
Wow! The possibility of reducing traffic caused by email, kleinshare, kleinnet, etc.
How do you reduce this traffic that causes slow computers or slow information from loading through email, eduphoria, kleinshare etc. Think about it, could be cost free and time saving.
One idea could be Web Office or Google Docs (which are considered examples of Production Applications).

Wireless Computers Ipods
What is the possibility?
Q*Concern- some of my kinder students need a little more time and opportunities to listen to nursery rhymes, chants, songs, etc which we use daily in our classroom BUT would be nice if they have access to it from home
A*Solution- iPods or shuffles to avoid tapes or CDs being torn or scratched
Q*Concern- some of our students do not have computers available to them at home, and will probably not happen any time soon with this economy
A*Solution- $100 GreenLaptop
Q*Concern- some of our students need access to internet
A*Solution- Make WiFi or wireless available to them
So is this something possible four KleinISD? We will try to write a grant, worth the try!

Photos & Images
I'm very selfish. I love to look at other peoples pictures yet I am not willing to share my own.

Probably its a sense of security... but as I mentioned before I am taking this class to step out of my comfort zone and become more social in this world.
Let me introduce you to baby Jared... pray that all goes well next week at TCH.

I am beginning to feel a huge responsibility of becoming more comfortable with virtual tools.
Only then will my mind become creative and in touch with the new generation of learners.
Wow! Imagine a classroom with students blogging while using Microsoft Surface tables and for more concrete manipulative's have them use siftables.
In fact, I would love for my 3 yr old daughter to walk into a classroom and be engaged with such tools in addition to your regular soft cover pages of a book. I have gained a new vision for my classroom.
